Lab Support Engineer
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Lab Support Engineer in San Jose, CA.About the Team:
This Team designs, implements, and delivers on most challenging aspect of datacenter adoption and architect level guidance to help enable our partners and customers. You will be part of the dynamic and passionate team working on bleeding edge projects.
Responsibilities:
- Lab Support Engineer will work on rack and stack, cabling according to best practices for datacenter architecture
- Install and configure Cisco UCSM, Cisco Intersight & IMM, Install OS, Configure Cisco UCS systems for Data Center applications such as Big Data/Hadoop and Analytics, SAP HANA, VDI, private Cloud and other applications
- Bring up system and validation of the system for application performance test
- Interact with teams for technical discussion
- Execute different various performance benchmarks Cisco Systems for different application solutions
- As a Lab Support Engineer, you will support Solution Lab validations - Maintain the solutions lab infrastructure (Firmware, Software, Drivers)
- Update memory, CPUS, drives in solution HW per solution scope
Maintain current lab compliance standards and follow lab compliance rules:
- Includes completing training requirements as presented
- Space/Power management
- Properly handling or storing any assets managed by the team
- Asset Management - follow protocol for asset management: Tagging, storing, tracking appropriate systems
REQUIREMENTS:
- Basic working knowledge of network configuration principles and can follow written instructions for installing, updating, configuring, and managing a lab network environment
- Experience with lab bring up and design validation and writing and/or following build guides
- Familiar with VMware ESXi & Linux OS Installation, as well as network/SAN storage configuration principles
- Familiarity with lab protocols and support ticketing systems is required
- Experience with server configuration
Desired Skills:
- Experience with datacenter design and management, including software and firmware update
- Ability to Install and administrate various Linux distribution
- Familiarity to Virtualization technologies such as VMware ESXi, KVM, etc.
- Ability to collaborate with team on different projects
- Familiar with technical document creation
- Experience working remotely with engineers and technicians from all over the world
- Knowledge of Cisco UCS Systems and UCSM/Cisco Intersight is huge plus
