General Laborer

Edgar Trent Construction is currently looking for general labor positions.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• The primary purpose of this position is to assist crew with daily tasks including operating line equipment used in construction, maintenance and removal of overhead and under- ground fiber optic lines, driving and/or operating diesel or gasoline powered equipment to/from/on jobsite (Mini Excavator, Directional Bore, Digger Derrick, Pole/Bucket Truck), and using hand tools such as shovel, rake, or snap diggers to complete job.
• Locates other buried wiring/cabling Install underground telecommunications cabling
• Flagging (directing safe coordination of vehicles and equipment within general public areas where worksites are active)
• Property or worksite restoration
• Performs general construction work (to include physical labor i.e. using hand tools, lifting materials on average up to 50 lbs, etc.) under direction of Foreman or Supervisor
• Performs other duties as necessary
• Ensures safety practices are observed by all crewmembers during their work

QUALIFICATIONS/ EXPERIENCE

• Prior experience with installation/repair/maintenance associated with underground utilities preferred.
• Construction safety practices – JSA’s, tail gate meetings, hazard analysis
• Class A CDL strongly preferred.
• Current and valid driver’s license with good record to operate company provided vehicle.
• Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly.
• Dependable and trustworthy.
• Ability to look beyond the standard solutions.
• Availability to work and stay out of town
• Willing to train the right applicants
