A reputable company located in the Raleigh, NC area is looking for a sharp Staff Accountant to join their team. If you're interested in becoming a critical part of an innovative Rental/Leasing Services company, Robert Half has an opportunity for a permanent Staff Accountant. You might be a good fit for this Staff Accountant position if you have sales/use tax experience, Sage experience, can prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. This role will involve internal reporting during the monthly close, participation in compliance, interaction with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and reviewing schedules reporting processes. This is a hybrid role. No prior industry experience is needed and this role will not have any direct reports. The company is also willing to reimburse all employees for detail oriented/educational development endeavors.
What you get to do every day
- Support the month end, quarter end and year end closing process by preparing monthly financial close workbooks
- Assemble analyses for monthly balance sheets and income statements for management reporting
- Recurring journal entries maintenance and reconciliation
- Compose journal entries and conduct the month end close with minimal supervision
- Thorough experience with month end balance sheet account reconciliations
- Special projects and impromptu reporting, upon request
- Maintain intercompany transactions, billings, and reconciliation
- Maintain depreciation, fixed asset ledgers, and reconciliation
- Organize schedules for monthly payments and capital lease
- Coordinate and analyze a variety of financial data, then report it in a way that is useful and understandable
- Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations which include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll
- Seizes opportunities to produce results without direct supervision
- Cash management experience desired
- Treasury Management experience
- Vertex Sales & Use Tax experience
- Sage Software experience required
- Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases
- 5+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience
- Skilled with ERP systems
- Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills required
- Strong attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic and constantly changing company environment
- Ability and willingness to meet business critical deadlines
- Sharp, analytical thinking abilities, always seeking to draw connections and identify the "why"
- Spreadsheet and database capabilities
