Most of the day will be spent at the computer doing technical type of work (SQL coding to create extracts requested by business, investigating issues entered by end users, development, debugging and enhancing existing SQL codes, downloading/uploading files). There is a daily scrum call to connect with whole team on current work status. There typically will be many IM exchanges between the business teams using our warehouse, the business team that has requested data extracts, or anyone that may be requesting data investigations, so excellent communication skills are required.

It is very possible that a shift in priorities during the day will cause you to switch gears to a different project. Many times, you will be working on several projects at the same time, balancing them all at once, thus excellent time management, organizational and multi-tasking skills are a must. Most projects are completed on your own, with high level input given by the business team, so most of your work will require independent thinking and creative judgment.

The work hours are flexible, with some team members working from 7am until 3:30pm and others working from 9am-5:30pm. Late off hours work is very rare and certainly not mandatory, but there are some occasions where due to time zone differences in other team members, and tight customer deadlines, that it may be helpful to do a minimal amount of work after hours.

You will enjoy the flexibility to telecommute* from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.
