Job Description
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Construction Laborer performs tasks involving physical labor. May operate a variety of hand and power tools. May clean and prepare job sites, dig trenches, set braces to support the sides of excavations, clean up rubble and debris and remove waste materials. A laborer will be assigned to a variety of miscellaneous tasks for heavy construction of underground utilities.
The Construction Laborer will be required to hold and maintain an OSHA 10 Certification.

Job Qualifications and Education Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent work experience
- Hold and maintain an OSHA 10 Certification
- Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) and Criminal Background; class A CDL driver's license
- Must have flexibility in personal schedule including weekdays and occasional night and weekend work
- Strong focus on safety, quality, accountability, integrity, and teamwork
- Additional OSHA and related safety training a plus
- Ability to stand and exert physical effort performing manual labor most of the day
- Ability to lift up to 60 pounds
- Ability to work in confined spaces
- Willingness to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including hard hat, eye protection, reflective vest, gloves, and composite-toed boots
- Ability to work in severe weather conditions, including extreme heat
- Knowledge of hand and power tools
- Knowledge or experience in underground dry utility installation a plus
- Good communication skills and the ability to interact in a team environment
- Reliable transportation
- Bilingual English/Spanish a plus
Duties

- Follows direction of foreman to perform miscellaneous assigned tasks, including driving, digging, pulling, pushing, lifting, measuring, cutting, and reading prints/drawings
- Exhibits safe work practices by following company rules and OSHA regulations, including attendance at all required safety training programs
- Takes action to avoid potential hazards and obstructions such as utility lines, other equipment, other workers and falling objects
- Performs a wide variety of manual labor tasks involving dexterous use of hand tools such as pneumatic, electric and hand tools
- Maintain a clean work environment, pick up all tools and equipment to secure job site each day in order to eliminate potential hazards.
- Prepare job site and load/unload equipment and materials.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle/equipment inspections.

- This position involves work at a construction site where duties will be performed both indoors and outdoors.
- Work requires moderate to heavy physical and manual skills, such as the use of hand operated power tools, construction equipment and Company vehicles.
- Work requires close mental and visual concentration, hand/eye coordination and dexterity often in hazardous or adverse conditions for sustained periods.
- Work requires the use of heavy power-driven equipment and working in confined spaces, often exposing the employee to hazardous situations.
- Extended hours may be required to meet project deadlines.
- Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse and other business machines.
- While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.
