Quality Assurance Manager
One of our top clients is recruiting again! They are looking for a Quality Assurance Manager for their facility. Interested job seekers should have work experience with a highly successful and well-established egg products manufacturer. An overview of the Quality Assurance Manager’s responsibilities:
1) Ensure that the company establishes and consistently meets exceptional food safety and quality standards
2) Manage the Quality Assurance Supervisor and QA Department functions and the monitoring of food safety and quality systems
3) Work with the Sales Department personnel in securing new accounts and meeting special requirements or requests of customers or potential customers
4) Manage and lead the development of the SQF System within the company and is designated as the SQF Practitioner or work with the assigned SQF Practitioner on Pre-Requisite Programs, Food Safety Plans, HACCP, and Food Quality Plans relevant to the scope of certification required by SQF code
5) Manage the company’s food safety and quality committee and its functions
6) Work with the Safety Coordinator/Hiring/ Manager to ensure that the training program is implemented as required and that all employees receive GMP, HACCP, Allergen Awareness and SQF Food Safety and Quality Systems Review
7) Facilitate employee training on food safety and quality procedures
8) Maintain PEPRLab status of company in-house laboratory by satisfying FSIS requirements for proficiency sample analysis and regulations governing PEPR Lab
9) Prepare for and participate in laboratory audits by USDA, FSIS, OPHS, LQAD and MBNQA
10) Maintain the operations of the laboratory, including scheduling of laboratory technicians for completion of required micro and analytical test requirements for the release of a product
11) Ensure day-to-day laboratory coverage and fill in for laboratory technicians during days off
12) Manage the calibration and preventative maintenance of laboratory equipment and specific plant QA equipment and instruments
13) Manage internal environmental microbiological monitoring program
14) Prepare for and participate in audits and inspections from customers and third parties
15) Monitor and trend customer complaints and out of compliant products and assist with implementation of corrective action for audit deficiencies and customer complaints, as applicable
16) Help to troubleshoot root causes for product that does not meet internal and customer specifications

18) Serve as back-up for company recall coordinator
19) Verify the effectiveness of product trace system and product withdrawal and recall systems that is tested annually
20) Develop testing and reporting for plant and suppliers
21) Work with other members of management on any potential production problems
22) Provide input, observations and recommendations for solutions
23) Work with other members of management in identifying inefficient and ineffective processes and procedures, recommend and assist in the implementation of improvements
24) Perform monthly internal inspections, glass brittle and ceramic inspections and quarterly locker inspections as per the inspection schedule
25) Supervise sampling procedures for environmental and product testing to analyze products for bacteriological, chemical, or physical properties or for customer audit requirements
26) Manage plant systems and protocol to be in compliance with USDA regulations governing the inspections of eggs and egg products
27) Manage and monitor supplier and customer complaint policy, communicate and follow-up corrective action as required or delegate responsibility for corrective action
28) Manage quality assurance and laboratory budgets to ensure resources available
29) Manage and develop, implement and enforce SSOPs, SOPs and GMP and food safety policies
30) Manage the development, implementation and review of finished product, raw material and product contact packaging specifications and work with the Supply Chain Manager on approved suppliers
31) Work on special projects as needed, including research and development
32) Manage with QA Supervisor the SQF NH food safety and quality manual
33) Report any food safety and quality issues and problems to personnel with authority to initiate action
34) Perform other duties as assigned
Critical Requirements
1) A university degree is required. Although all candidates are welcome and encouraged to apply, preference will be given to those with degrees in a relevant field
2) Appropriate full-time work experience is mandatory (no students or fresh graduates please)
3) Recent experience in the egg products industry is strongly preferred
4) Preference will be given to candidates with recent experience in quality assurance management
