Lead Electrical Engineer
The primary purpose of the Lead Electrical Engineer will be to provide leadership and creativity in the design, development, optimization, and problem solving of the SC-3 safety testing requirements, as well as to develop and support reliability and engineering teams in a manner that meets safety and performance expectations. In addition, the position will provide electrical engineer support for mill utility systems and department projects.
Engineering support includes the following:
- Site SC-3 Testing Development & Implementation
- Task & schedule development and coordinating with the department equipment downs
- Safety Circuit testing with engineering support
- Development of engineering & reliability resources
- Tracking and auditing SC-3 compliance through SAP work system
- Utility & Department Project Support
- Mill Power Monitoring Development
Requirements:
- Carry out all job responsibilities in a safe manner.
- Develop equipment and processes that meet safety codes, policies, guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
- Provide for the safety and well-being of operators, maintenance, and other personnel.
- Lead single or multiple capital or major maintenance projects with a financial scope of up to $10 million from conception through commercialization.
- Provide functional guidance in the design, development, and optimization of department equipment and processes to meet site objectives.
- Seek, recognize, define, and solve problems to achieve unit objectives. Identify complex technical issues and provide necessary solutions to eliminate root cause.
- Assist in the development of others within the area of expertise. Manage site contractors.
- Basic Requirements:
- Requires a bachelor’s or advanced degree: In Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology from an accredited College or University
- At least 3 years of experience in Fifferent plant and/or staff engineering assignments, with a .
- At least 3 years of experience with control systems, including instrumentation, power distribution, distributed control systems, PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), variable speed motor drives, and HMIs (Human Machine Interfaces).
- Working knowledge of facilities, utilities, and manufacturing/converting equipment.
- technical expertise with manufacturing or converting processes that is specific and in-depth.
- Knowledge in electrical engineering and the ability to apply it to the execution of process and capacity improvements in capital or expense projects.
- experience installing and starting up equipment
- A track record of working effectively in cross-functional teams to complete projects on time.
- Working knowledge of outside technical service providers.
