LICENSED PRACTICAL NURSE

Position Title: Licensed Practical Nurse

FLSA: Exempt

Location: Denison Job Corps Center

Reports To: Director, Health and Wellness

The LPN position provides support for a U.S Department of Labor Job Corps contractor. The Job Corps program is a federally-funded residential training program. The mission of Job Corps is to provide career-ready technical and academic training and job placement assistance to program eligible youth ages 16-24.

Summary of Duties:

The LPN is responsible for assisting the Wellness Manager in planning, implementing, and evaluating an efficient Wellness Program consistent with student needs and Job Corps’ goals and objectives.

Key Areas of Responsibilities:

  • Promotes the Wellness Program and provides care, assessment, triage, and treatment.
  • Provides input to the manager, physician, and mental health consultant for case management of student’s health issues.
  • Coordinates and delivers orientation to Health Services to students.
  • Assists the manager with Center-wide staff training requirements.
  • Coordinates and promotes activities that support health and safety throughout the Center.
  • Ensures delivery of quality services is provided to trainees and staff at all times. Assists students in developing their employability skills.
  • Develops strategies and initiatives to increases participation in health and wellness activities on-Center.
  • Promotes a safe and secure environment.
  • Complies with OSHA requirements.

Credentials:

Education and Experience

LPN license in State, at least 2 years of relevant experience, Associates degree preferred.

Must possess computer proficiency and excellent communication skills.

Certifications, Licenses, Registration

Valid state driver’s license.
