Senior Financial Accountant
About this role:
The Wells Fargo ABUS Lending team focuses on commercial loans recorded on Loan IQ and AFS. We support the commercial lending business by working with Operations to ensure commercial loans are recorded appropriately. In addition, the group provides thoughtful leadership identifying alternative and proactive approaches and solutions for the business based on financial analysis that can have a critical impact on the long-term business strategy and performance.
This role will support loan accounting for Middle Market Banking and Corporate & Investment Banking. It will have direct interaction with the loan servicing teams, relationship managers and the Credit Resolution Group.

In this role, you will:
- Provide accounting guidance to loan servicing centers, lines of business and Credit Resolution Group
- Review SEC and Regulatory Reporting requests prepared by others, as well as prepare more complex requests
- Participate in accounting changes impacting the lines of business, including changes to reporting submissions and understanding the impact to systems of record
- Complete month-end financial statement analytics, transaction review and variance analysis
- Engage with the COSO team on walkthroughs and control testing
- Continuously review work to identify areas of improvement, automation opportunities and process efficiencies
- Provide accounting guidance to other members of the team
Required Qualifications:
- 4+ years of Finance, Accounting, Analytics, Financial Reporting, Accounting Reporting or Risk Reporting experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- A BS/BA degree or higher in accounting, finance, or economics
- An active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation
- 2+years of Capital Markets product knowledge
- Knowledge of Commercial Lending
- Loan accounting experience
- Experience executing a COSO-based Sarbanes-Oxley internal control assessment
- Knowledge and understanding of accounting principles: statutory and GAAP
- Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills
