Responsible for the development of product-specific policies/strategies, partner risk and compliance frameworks, and primary advocate for organizational/operational changes to support the maturation of Discover's involvement in emerging commerce ecosystems such as open banking, digital/cryptocurrency and decentralized finance & commerce.

Responsibilities

• Develop policy strategies to enable new forms of network transactions, connections to open finance/data aggregators and emerging fintech services and platforms

• Analyze technical, operational, market regulatory and competitive factors that will shape emerging product policies and frameworks

• Influence broadly by asking questions, using frameworks, being objective and facilitating product and policy discussion towards a viable path

• Develop insightful materials for senior leadership and lead discussions to ensure consistency of understanding regarding new policies

• Push constant innovation by working with Risk, Operations and Business Development to do more with less, to do it faster and to do it better

Minimum Qualifications

At a minimum, here’s what we need from you:

• Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field

• 6+ years of experience in Electronic Payments, Product Management or related

• 2+ years of experience in Risk, Policy, Compliance, or related

• In lieu of a degree, 8+ years of experience in Electronic Payments or related, and 2+ years of experience in Risk, Policy, Compliance, or related

Preferred Qualifications

If we had our say, we’d also look for:

• 8+ years of experience in Electronic Payments

• Strong payment services/emerging technology experience along with corporate risk/legal/policy experience

• Fintech/Blockchain/open banking/emerging technology experience

• Strong thought leadership/influencing skills

• Ability to bridge the gap between emerging technology products and risk
