Tapestry Solutions Boeing Global Services BGS is seeking a Senior Versatile Technologist in San Diego, CA.

In this role you will work with a team of build & deployment engineers as well as various development teams to define and maintain build execution (CI/CD) systems. You will work with multiple cloud environments for in-house development and QA verification as well as customer facing access. The vast majority of our software is containerized and being deployed using modern container orchestration like Docker Swarm and AKS.

Position Responsibilities:

• Design and maintain build environments for Java, JavaScript, C# based projects (mostly maven based Java and NPM based JavaScript) in collaboration with development
• Building application images (Docker) following common patterns
• Define and maintain build automation pipelines
• Automate build execution
• Administrate Jenkins incl. plugins and upgrades
• Automation of Linux shell tasks through build automation tool chain
• Repository management with Artifactory and Nexus
• Source code management in SVN and GitLab

This position allows telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options.

The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a "US Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. "US Person" includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

• Linux administration experience
• Experience in shell scripting

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

• Proficient in containerization using Docker, Docker Swarm and Kubernetes
• Knowledge of common cloud environments (Azure preferred)
• Python knowledge considered a plus
• Comfortable with agile / SAFe processes, tools (Jira) and ceremonies
• Understanding of DevSecOps / Secure-by-Design principles
• Knowledge of TDD/BDD implementation techniques considered a plus
• Active documentation in Jira, GitLab and SharePoint
• Available to work during US business hours (mainly Pacific); Regular work is Mon-Fri, occasional weekend or after-hours work required
• Other tasks as needed, trouble shooting

Typical Education & Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor's) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master's and typically 7 or more years' related work experience.)
