Fund Accountant
This is a great opportunity for a Fund Accountant looking to grow their career in the financial services industry. This is a role that not will have you working late into the night at quarter-end.
The fund accountant will report directly to the Accounting Manager and will have the core responsibilities below but is not limited to this list:
- Compiles and analyzes financial information to prepare financial statements including
monthly and annual accounts
- Review financial records within White Oak’s Advent Geneva accounting system and
compare against the official books of the fund administrator; research any variances.
- Review quarter-end investor statements and performance return calculations.
- Ensures all financial reporting deadlines are met
- Monitor and reconcile daily cash movements and resolve discrepancies internally with
the White Oak Middle Office team or externally with the custodians.
- Prepare account-analysis files for each assigned fund to ensure the books are properly
maintained.
- Prepare fund-level investment performance reports for distribution to investors,
custodians and White Oak management.
- Keep accurate records on partner capital activities, including capital calls and
distributions.
- Establishes and monitors the implementation and maintenance of accounting control
procedures
- Resolves accounting discrepancies and irregularities
- Continuous management and support of budget and forecast activities
- Monitors and supports taxation issues
- Ensures accurate and appropriate recording and analysis of revenues and expenses
- Analyzes financial information to recommend or develop efficient use of resources and
procedures, provide strategic recommendations and maintain solutions to business and
financial problems
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong combination of the following skills:
- Accounting or financial services-related work experience, ideally with an investment management firm, fund administrator or with a CPA firm.
- BA/BS degree with a preference for Accounting, Finance or Economics.
- All candidates must have an understanding of accounting principles.
- Excellent computer skills in MS Excel and Word.
- Strong problem solving, analytical, written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
