Compression Operator



Job Description

Position Summary:

Operates Machine that produces HDPE pipe fittings/flanges using Compression Molding manufacturing. Position requires continuous presence at Production Plant to operate machinery as part of a team of operators.


SECOND SHIFT: 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM

Shift Differential: $1.00 for SECOND SHIFT!
Bonus structure based on meeting set productivity goals
Attendance Bonus: Monthly potential for $100 perfect attendance bonus

Essential Functions:

  • Follows sequence of operations with specific phases for production.
  • Accurately records production data of all finished parts.
  • Manually assembles and disassembles cast molds to remove produced parts.
  • Operates crane to maneuver part to and from press, machinery, and cooling and holding areas.

Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • At least 1 year of related work experience with manufacturing/machining equipment in an industrial or related setting preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to learn compression extrusion process including; setup, operation, control screen, and reporting of various alarms and malfunctions.
  • Safe use of hand and pneumatic/electrical tools which may include impact guns, compressed air gun, jib crane, cutting blade, clamp machine, ratchet, temperature gun, thermometer, steel spatula, open speed wrench, screwdriver, air nozzle gun, rubber mallet, and putty knife.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical functions such as reading measurements.
  • Written and verbal communication skills to read, understand and take instructions, correctly complete all documentation and communicate issues to supervisor.
  • Experience operating a forklift highly preferred.

Physical Requirements:

Position requires constant standing, raising and lowering of arms, and use of hand tools. Regular pushing, pulling, lifting and/or maneuvering of up to 70 lbs. Exposure to high temperature in facility. Overtime may be required on occasion.
