SUMMARY
The Senior Tax Analyst will apply principles of taxation and income tax accounting to prepare income tax provision as well as work with external firms to complete compliance process. Additional duties include, but are not limited to, transfer pricing documentation, assisting external consultants with tax reform computations, and fixed assets.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Preparation of workpapers used to validated book/tax differences on the tax provision as well as tax return.

  • Assist consulting firm with international tax computations for budget as well as provisions with respect to BEAT, GILTI, and FDII.

  • Assist with management of tax compliance and tax provision.

  • Work with outside return preparation firms to gather and report tax data for provision and return calculation, such as book/tax adjustments, UNICAP and transfer pricing reporting.

  • Assist external firm with compiling transfer pricing documentation for yearly transfer pricing reports.

  • Respond to and resolve tax queries, assessments and claims from federal and state governmental tax authorities.

  • Access and analyze monthly financial data to determine need for sales and use tax reporting, including but not limited to extraction of data, production of exemption certificates and managing tax consulting projects related to sales tax and VAT.

  • Prepare state and local sales and use tax filings.

  • Respond to and resolve tax queries, assessments and claims from federal and state governmental tax authorities.

  • Coordinate federal, state and local tax audits.

  • Identify and mitigate tax risks.

  • Monitor all VAT activity for US and Canadian companies and work directly with entities to obtain all potential refunds and keep all registrations and filings current.

  • Review changes to federal and state laws as well as ensure internal calculation and estimated payment models are up to date.

  • Interaction with Government officials, revenue agents and management as well as internal controllers, staff and outside vendors will be required.

  • Must be detail oriented and be able to work independently. In addition, working seamlessly in a large team environment will be necessary.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting and/or MS/MA in taxation

  • 5+ years’ experience with federal, unitary, state, and local tax compliance filings as well as provision preparation.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel; other database administration experience a plus.

  • Strong foundation in federal tax, deferred tax, and multi-state income taxes.

  • Large multi-national corporation and/or Big 4 accounting firm experience preferred.
