WORK SCHEDULE

Monday-Friday 12:30pm-8:30pm

SUMMARY

This position is responsible for the preventive maintenance and major repairs of all Lettershop production equipment. Additionally, provide support for other electrical, network system, and mechanical needs as required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform preventive maintenance on machines as required. Maintain records of work performed including parts used/replaced and hours needed per Work Order procedures.
  • Responsible for major mechanical repairs on equipment as required. Work with other personnel to diagnose and repair equipment timely to release back into production.
  • Repair ancillary equipment and perform preventative maintenance as time permits.
  • Perform minor electrical testing, such as, change fuses and fix broken wires.
  • Assist setups on machines as requested, particularly after major PM or repair. Clean machines prior to setups and inspect the machines as part of preventive maintenance measure.
  • Train and assist other lettershop personnel on basic preventative maintenance routines – i.e. oil and cleaning of equipment.
  • Respond to machine problems throughout the plant. Diagnose problems and perform repairs and adjustments as quickly as possible to avoid production delays.
  • Maintain production standards. Report any production, quality or safety problems to the supervisor immediately.
  • Utilize MicroMain inventory control system and work with the parts department to obtain new parts and return old parts, fill out all appropriate paperwork (Work Orders etc.) to ensure maintenance and accuracy of the parts inventory system. Keep work areas organized and up-to-date.
  • Comply with company rules and regulations, especially as pertains to Safety.
  • Maintain confidentiality of company-sensitive data.
  • Implement a commitment to quality philosophy and recommend methods and procedures to reduce cost and/or improve operating efficiency of the department.
  • Keep manager/supervisor informed of activities and situations that will impact the achievement of corporate or department goals and objectives.
  • Perform other related duties as required to achieve the goals and objectives of the department and company.


EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

• Minimum Trade school plus 3-4 years’ experience in machine repair or equivalent.
• Post High School learning/training a plus


COMPETENCIES

• Ability to use hand and power tools, such as:

  • Standard and metric wrenches and sockets
  • Screwdrivers
  • Electric meter
  • Saws
  • Drills
  • Electric sander/grinder

• Computer proficient (knowledge of inventory/parts systems a plus)
• Ability to read schematics
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting capabilities
• Ability to comprehend parts/operator manual
• Good communication skills
