IT Support Specialist

IT Support Specialist Requirements:

• 5+ years IT Support Administrator experience in a Windows/ Mac environment - User-facing help desk position supporting 130 users
• 
  •Sys admin will be part of the role (more server support), anyone looking for pure sys admin position need not apply
• 
  •Position is 99% end user support, and their main project will be laptop refurbishment for some users
• 
  •Expertise in cleaning and upgrading laptops, install Windows, join computers to an Active Directory domain, install Office 365, and perform other common workstation deployment tasks
• Occasionally need to remote into a server to manage users / groups in Active Directory or grant access to shared files. They must have some level of basic experience with Active Directory and NTFS filesystem permissions
• Windows version of Adobe apps. Support requirements are mainly limited to installing, troubleshooting, and supporting Adobe Acrobat - experience in other Adobe apps is not a requirement, but it is a plus
• They need to be familiar with general wireless networking concepts / troubleshooting so that they can support connectivity issues with remote / home office workers
• Strong laptop imaging / repair skills including cloning disks, data recovery, memory upgrades, battery replacements, screen replacements, testing, cleaning, refurbishment, etc.
• The environment is 99% Windows/MacOS experience is not a requirement, and the candidate will not be expected to support Macs (although experience in them is a plus)
• Office 365, Windows, Adobe, and common business application troubleshooting skills
• Working knowledge of Windows Server, Exchange, and Active Directory including user / group management, group policies, filesystem permissions, etc.
• TCP/IP, IP addressing, DNS, DHCP, etc.
• Strong communication skills and ability to resolve technical issues over the phone and with remote access utilities
• Strong technical writing skills for documenting technical procedures and updating system knowledgebase
