Payroll Specialist
A family office on Long Island is actively seeking a dynamic and organized professional to join their staff as their new Payroll Specialist. In this role, the Payroll Specialist will be responsible for providing the highest levels of service to high-net-worth individuals and their families, as well as their closely-held businesses, while interacting with other Family Office personnel.
Responsibilities
The Payroll Specialist will:
- Prepare payroll for a population of between 50-100, including W2s and 1099s for both business and domestic employment
- Provide general bookkeeping functions (Payroll, A/P, A/R, GL QuickBooks) for a portfolio of small to mid-size businesses
- Prepare management accounts and reports
- Prepare sales and payroll tax returns, as applicable
- Develop and maintain relationships with various personnel to obtain an understanding of family office operations, processes and functions
- Produce accurate and timely documents and workpapers
- 5+ years of basic payroll and bookkeeping experience
- Experience with QuickBooks
- Experience with payroll and sales taxes
- Proficient in Excel
- Proven experience providing a proactive, personalized service
- Ability to multitask
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- College degree
- Experience working in a CPA firm
