Epic Grand Central/ Prelude Principal Engineer

CommonSpirit Health is actively recruiting a Epic Grand Central and Prelude Engineer (Registration and Scheduling) The Epic Grand Central and Prelude Engineer is responsible for the build, configuration and deployment of the Epic Grand Central, Transport, Bed Management, and Prelude applications. This position requires a seasoned health care professional who has a deep knowledge of revenue cycle management. Must be able to support the implementation of Registration and Scheduling, Admission, Transfer, Discharge, Bed and Room Management, Transport, Housekeeping processes as well as work queue processing, reports and dashboards.*Responsibilities*This is a remote position. * Adapt to rapidly changing needs and priorities without losing sight of overall plans and priorities.* Analyze and choose between options where the solution is not always obvious.* Develop project plans and organize own workload on a timescale of 1–2 months.* Ensures new installations will integrate with the current application and data technical environment.* Leads cross functional application development activities to achieve project objectives.* Organizes and is accountable for keeping up-to-date module/application documentation to include associated tools used, common troubleshoot tips with their resolution steps, installation, maintenance, backup process and procedures for the applications/modules assigned. Makes recommendations to update any relevant departmental or organizational policies and procedures as appropriate.* Performs and completes assignments, provides consistent quality and quantity of work with minimal supervision.* Plays a significant role in solving problems and improving work flow processes and data management methods for multiple software applications.* Provides documentation and delivery of training on assigned applications to educate users on system functionality and capability.* Supports any application audits that are needed to validate proper system security set up, etc.* When requested, prepares regular project status reports and keeps their respective manager, the project manager or department/module team leader aware of project status. * Allocates and assigns tasks to team members, monitors team work for quality and completeness and provides feedback to the team.* Contribute to the development of team members, encouraging the acquisition of additional skills and providing opportunities for them to be used effectively.* Develops innovative solutions such as complex reports, scripts and forms according to required specifications.* Interfaces with vendors on maintenance release information gathering and planning.* Leads evaluations of IT updates and revisions; establishes priorities and plans for release schedules.* Leads incident management processes as a function of the entire team and escalates issues as appropriate.* Leads identification of continuous improvement opportunities and related projects.* Lead team meetings as necessary.* Participates in or leads the evaluation, selection and application of new and emerging tools and techniques.* Performs or facilitates periodic quality checks and improvement projects to assure that the functions of the application analyst and application systems that are assigned are being performed in an error-free fashion including any change management procedures and/or processes.* Proactively communicate and collaborate with external and internal customers to analyze information needs and functional requirements and delivery.* Provides leadership through team motivation, coaching, mentoring, and delegating.*Qualifications** Bachelor’s degree or equivalent knowledge and skills obtained through a combination of education, training, and experience in a Healthcare environment.* 10+ years’ experience working in IT as an Application Systems Analyst or Technical analyst type role. * Epic Certification required* 6 or more years’ experience application support, implementation or development experience with applications in a hospital or medical related industry is required. * Expert level understanding and comfort leading business and technology partners through a structured deployment and/or implementation life cycle and support model. This includes technical requirement gather, specification development and creation of design and system test plans. * Capacity to leverage strong analytical and complex problem solving skills to recommend solutions. * Proven abilities in problem management, process analysis and root cause analysis is required.* Ability to handle multiple moderate to complex projects, set priorities, schedule and meet deadlines is required. * Strong command of key productivity applications: Google Workspace, Microsoft Visio, * Operational knowledge of interfaces/EDI, APIs, and evolving technology is desired. * Ability to lead discussions with application and project team(s) to define testing scenarios and scripts in alignment with customer and system requirements is a desired skill. A compensation range of $107,000 - $135,000 is the reasonable estimate that CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job based on the circumstances at the time of posting. CommonSpirit may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law.
