Billing Supervisor (Hybrid)

A nonprofit organization in New York City is currently seeking a detail oriented and highly organized professional to join their staff as their new Billing Supervisor. In this role, the Billing Supervisor (Hybrid) will be accountable for leading and managing a team of Billing Analysts who are responsible for entering budgets, preparing and submitting bills to funders and tracking contract receivables and balances and other applicable duties.

**The qualified professional selected for this opportunity will be required to work at least 1 day onsite.**

Responsibilities:

The Billing Supervisor (Hybrid) will:
  • Partner with the Billing Manager to analyze the workflow and work product for efficiency and accuracy and make recommendations for improvement
  • Interact with the various Practice Administrators to coordinate staff allocation changes, coordinate & ensure changes are implemented into Financial Edge, and prepare staff allocation reports for review
  • Monitor the billing deadlines calendar to ensure compliance to strict reporting and billing related deadlines for assigned duties
  • Ensure that program applications and/or contract budgets are prepared, finalized and submitted accurately and timely
  • Oversee subcontractor invoicing and payment process
  • Review contract vouchers and billing submission packages and reports to government/private funding sources on a timely basis
  • Review staff allocation changes and ensure that they are updated in Financial Edge
  • Verify that reimbursements are not in excess of contract amounts
  • Initiate timely and accurate follow-ups on outstanding accounts receivable balances with grantors
  • Assist with individual program audits, as well as the organization's year-end audit, when necessary
  • Verify that the billing processes are documented, and that the documentation is kept current and tested
  • Perform special projects, as requested

Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of relevant work experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, and/or a related field
  • Experience with basic Accounting functions
  • Experience with Grants Billing
  • Working knowledge of Financial Edge
  • Microsoft Excel proficient
  • Solid analytical, mathematical, and research skills
  • Great interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Highly organized
