Job Summary
Midwest Fastener Corp is looking for a passionate Vice President of Marketing to join our high-energy, collaborative team in Kalamazoo, Michigan. The Vice President will report to the President. The VP of Marketing will be responsible for the company’s marketing and planning, organizing, staffing, training, and managing all marketing functions to achieve company objectives for sales, growth, profitability, and visibility while remaining consistent with the Core Values of Midwest Fastener Corp.
The ideal candidate will be a cross functional business leader who understands and can demonstrate a collaborative leadership approach and understands the inner-connectivity of strategy, brand building, and marketing innovation – analytical and creative. The role requires an astute leader who excels at collaboration and influencing by forging close relationships across the organization. Hands-on and willing and able to quickly transition from the boardroom to the production floor with a roll-up-the-sleeves mindset. The successful candidate will be high energy, results driven, creative, perceptive, data driven, a reliable and creative problem solver and have a deep understanding of changing market dynamics.
Responsibilities and Duties
The Vice President of Marketing will oversee all marketing initiatives to ensure brand standards are met across all brand activities (packaging, labeling, marketing programs, etc.) to enhance and protect Midwest Fastener Corp.’s brand image.
- Develop a clear and concise integrated marketing strategy
- Develop and implement strategies to improve the company’s competitive position, and ensure smart growth
- Direct and support collection, analysis, and interpretation of market data for short- and long-term planning
- Position and market current and new product offerings
- Manage a cohesive Marketing team and work across various departments and identify opportunities to build the brand and support the needs of the company and its customers.
- Must possess the ability to build talent and organize and maintain the marketing department.
- Responsible for setting and communicating both our company and a department level vision.
- Manage department expenditures and allocate resources according to set strategy
- Maintain brand standards and ensure compliance across all marketing and communication channels
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business or related field from a four-year college or university and a minimum of 10-years of consumer marketing, merchandising, innovation and product development experience within the hardware channel specifically, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must possess an understanding of the rep driven sales model along with mechanical ability/ DIY “user” based product knowledge.
- Proven track record of collaboration with or experience in sales roles.
- Knowledge and record of digital marketing success to build a brand and drive sales
- Critical thinker with strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication and writing skills, and exceptional interpersonal skills.
- Sense of urgency
- Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office
