This is a full-time position, reporting to the company’s President. A base annual salary range of $75,000-$90,000 is available based on level of experience, with a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, IRA match, paid time off, and work from home days.

Responsibilities:

We are a growing company, and that means you may be required to wear multiple hats throughout your day. As a Director of Accounting, you will serve as the company’s financial steward for all company accounts and financial systems. You are the primary contact and coordinate with key operating partners including HR/benefits, real estate, insurance, and banking. You establish a deep understanding of our business to identify opportunities to increase sales and profitability.

  • Financial steward of all financial & bank accounts on behalf of the company
  • G/L Accounting
  • Responsible for monthly close and reconciliation of general ledger
  • Daily cash reconciliation of bank account and general ledger
  • Monthly reconciliations of key accounts including Revenue, COGS, Work in Process, AR, & AP
  • Supporting end of year financial statements and tax filing process with external CPA
  • Manage the company’s financial systems and chart of accounts
  • Establishing and updating the company’s financial controls and policies
  • Accounting Operations
  • Bi-monthly Payroll processing
  • Weekly AP Processing, AR invoicing, and Collections. Coordinate with Sales and PM team on identifying when projects are ready to be invoiced and for support on collections (as necessary).
  • Supporting sales team with deposit requests, interim and retainage billing, purchase order corrections, etc.
  • Oversees and manages the company’s inventory process
  • Timely reporting and filing of state and local sales tax.
  • Overseeing and manage the bookkeeper and office admin with various accounting processes
  • Employee Onboarding & Offboarding for payroll and HR benefits
  • Financial Reporting & Driving value
  • Producing key management reports to help manage and run the business
  • Identify and drive new revenue generating and cost saving opportunities

Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
  • 8 or more years of experience in an accounting role, with a minimum of 2 years as an Accounting Manager, Director of Accounting, or Controller overseeing the accounting operations for an entire company or division.
  • CPA preferred, but not required with appropriate experience
  • Comfortable in a small company environment and aptitude to wear multiple hats and balance deliverables throughout a given day
  • Must be outgoing and excellent with customers, vendors, and teammates
  • Team player with a proactive and positive attitude
  • An obsessive level of attention to detail and customer service
  • Comfortable with technology and learning new software
  • Excellent communication skills verbal and written
  • Strong proficiency in all Microsoft Office tools including Outlook and Excel
  • Knowledge of Team Design and Smartsheet, is ideal, but not required
