- Executing strategies related to the improvement of processes for growing, multi-site hospital inventory supply chain, equipment and logistics
- Developing and implementing hospital, vendor, and asset tracking initiatives to achieve these strategies
- Identifying opportunities and leading efforts to increase and validate operational effectiveness, efficiency, and quality
Responsibilities:
- Assists in conceptualizing and leads execution of new processes that result in quantifiable inventory and supply chain efficiencies, vendor leverage, and improved hospital operations.
- Designs and implements an inventory tracking system, centering around VetnCare's EzyVet Practice Management Software, to optimize inventory control procedures
- Provides extensive on-site training to hospital teams at all levels on inventory, equipment and supply chain processes, with a strong focus on the efficient usage of EzyVet
- First point of contact for logistics processes including vendor accounts, ordering, invoice processing, VetnCare formulary, the setting of inventory layouts, equipment setup and maintenance contracts
- Builds systems to ensure constant awareness of levels of supplies and consumables to prevent shortages while keeping COGS low
- Builds out central supply strategy for sharing expenses for bulk item purchases between multiple business units
- Researches and suggests solutions for direct-to-client mailing services for prescription pet food and other items
- Works in partnership with Finance, HR, Operations, and other teams to reduce non-payroll expenses related to inventory carry, supply chain, equipment, and assets
- Suggests and conducts measurements for current and future processes.
- Establishes and maintains strong vendor relationships, negotiating competitive terms from all vendors
- Regularly analyzes different suppliers to stay abreast of the most cost-effective opportunities.
- Plays a key role in item set up, pricing updates, markups, formulary changes and new product selecting, leveraging expert-level knowledge of EzyVet
- Regularly visits hospitals to evaluate processes and identify opportunities for expense savings and process improvements.
- Identifies and leads setup and company-wide adoption of Asset Management software/system for tracking, maintenance, depreciation and replacement of high value medical assets
- Acts as main point of contact company-wide for equipment issues, concerns, and requests.
- Prepares detailed reports on inventory operations, stock levels, and adjustments.
- Actively seeks logistics & measurements enhancements by leveraging vendors and technology from other industries to adapt proven technologies to the veterinary space.
- Plays a core role at all stages of planning and setup for new site builds and acquisitions
