Director - Risk & Analytics

A leading financial services company looking for a seasoned professional to manage the Data Scientist team. Candidates should have 8-12+ years of hands-on experience in credit risk management (small business lending experience preferred) and a proven track record of driving business value through analytics and innovative solutions. This role offers up to 300k base compensation along with a bonus and equity component. NYC area is preferred but there is an option for remote flexibility.

Responsibilities:

• Own the Company's proprietary scoring model, including performance reporting, change implementation, evaluation of new variables and data sources
• Develop, leverage and manage complex predictive models and credit strategies
• Enhance reporting around scoring model, delinquency, and overall portfolio performance, providing actionable insights to senior management that result in value creation
• Manage the development and testing of new innovative origination strategies
• Evaluate the Company's data infrastructure and recommend improvements that will drive improved analytic work product
• Lead the portfolio and credit review function providing insights and reporting to executive team
• Work closely with teams to implement and communicate insights and/or changes to scoring infrastructure

Qualifications:

• 8-12+ years of experience in credit risk management. Fintech and/or small business lending preferred, consumer portfolio experience is okay
• Track record of driving business value and growth by leveraging analytics and innovative solutions
• Advanced degree in an analytical field such as mathematics, statistics, computer science/engineering or similar
• Extensive experience with SQL, R and other analytical/decisioning tools
• Team player who can work across functions and effectively communicate with senior management
• Excellent written and oral communication skills and ability to share findings with a large, non-technical audience
