Associate Chemist (2201184) Southfield, MI
We are seeking a professional like you to join our team and be responsible for development, implementation, and generation of analytical solutions to automotive coating performance problems. You will also be responsible for developing hypotheses and setting up test strategies to provide solutions for the broader team. This will include the use of advanced analytical techniques including microscopy, spectroscopy, and chromatography instruments.
Furthermore, you will trouble-shoot issues and perform maintenance on analytical instruments as well as innovate and develop new analytical methods to resolve customer problems often in a time critical fashion. In this job, you will effectively present results and conclusions to internal/external customers.
Formula for Success
Leveraging your Bachelor's degree in Chemistry and Materials Science as well as your 1-2 years related experience working in an industrial setting you will innovate and develop novel analytical techniques to improve the performance of the division.
Combining your experience with MS Office, SAP, and your technical knowledge on analytical methods and quality systems you will perform metrology on analytical instruments.
Based on your excellent organizational and problem-solving skills as well as your abilities to work in a fast-paced environment, manage priorities, and multitask you will trouble-shoot issues and perform maintenance on analytical instruments.
In accordance with your ability to analyze complicated data and apply analytical science to generate problem resolution, you will interpret and create concise reports for the customer as well as improve material performance by collaborating with technical teams on DFMEAs and material improvements by using a range of microscopy, spectroscopy, and chromatography instruments.
Your excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as your ability to interact with a diverse set of people will serve you well, as you will write and issue analytical reports for internal and external customers, providing problem resolutions for them.
