About The Opportunity

DMI is seeking a full time Cloud Architect to support headquarters in Bethesda, MD.

Qualifications
  • Experience with cloud services (ideally AWS, AZUREand Private clouds).
  • Experience understanding potential problems, and how to setup a geographically redundant service in the cloud.
  • A solid understanding of networking and core Internet protocols (e.g. TCP/IP, DNS, SMTP, HTTP, and distributed networks).
  • Experience with Linux/UNIX systems and the best practices for deploying applications to those stacks.
  • Experience with different databases, including working knowledge of SQL, relational data stores and NoSQL databases.
  • Extensive knowledge about APIs. You can design RESTful services and integrate with other data providers, and you know when to use JSON or XML.
  • Experience with developing software with object-oriented languages like Java, C++, or Ruby, ideally in SOA applications.
  • Demonstrated technical thought leadership in customer facing situations
  • Demonstrated ability to deploy workloads on public cloud
  • Oversight experience on major transformation projects and successful transitions to implementation support teams
  • Build demos and proof-of-concepts that use the latest AWS products and features
  • Deep understanding of cloud computing technologies, business drivers, and emerging computing trends
  • Proven track record of building deep technical relationships with senior executives and growing cloud consumption share in large or highly strategic accounts
  • Proven track record of driving decisions collaboratively, resolving conflicts and ensuring follow through
  • Problem-solving leveraging internal and/or external resources, where and when needed, to do what’s right for the customer and for the organization (i.e. think through workarounds, evaluate risk of various deployment options, etc.)
  • Ability to connect technology with measurable business value

Qualifications
  • Serves as lead CLOUD Subject Matter Expert (SME) for implementing and overseeing cloud computing strategy.
  • This includes cloud adoption plans, cloud application design, and cloud management and monitoring. Oversee application architecture requirements and deployment in cloud environments
  • College Graduate desired. Multiple years of hands-on experience of supporting Commercial Cloud Services, including AWS, AZURE, CLOUD+ or other comparable professional certification
