In this role, you will:
  • The Agile Delivery Leader is a servant leader and coach for the Agile applicable Program. The Agile Delivery Leader's major responsibilities are to facilitate the Agile Program events and processes and assist the teams in delivering value. Agile Delivery Leaders communicate with stakeholders, escalate / remove impediments, help assess & manage risk, and drive relentless improvement. Although Agile Program teams are composed of self-organizing and self-managing teams, those teams do not drive or steer themselves on autopilot. That responsibility falls to the Agile Delivery Leader, who operate most effectively as servant leaders. They have a solid grasp of how to scale Lean and Agile practices and understand the unique opportunities and challenges associated with facilitating and continuously aligning a large development program.
    • Manage and optimize the flow of value through the Agile Program using various tools, such as the Program Kanban, Program Increment & Release Burn-ups, and other information radiators.
    • Communicate the annual calendars for Sprints and Program Increments (PIs).
    • Facilitate Program Increment Planning readiness by fostering a Continuous Exploration process that drives the synthesis of a Vision, a Roadmap, and Backlogs, and through Pre- and Post-PI Planning events. This includes facilitating Product Owner / Product Manager identification and sizing of Features.
    • Facilitate the Program Increment planning event. This includes communicating standards to the teams to ensure consistency across teams and the ability to concatenate and report progress.
    • Summarize Team Program Increment Objectives into and publish them for visibility and transparency.
    • Assist in tracking the execution of features and capabilities via burn-ups and other metrics.
    • Facilitate periodic synchronization events, including the:
      • Scrum of Scrums
      • Product Owner Synch
      • Leadership Synch
    • Assist with economic decision-making by facilitating feature and capability estimation by teams and the roll-up into Epics.
    • Coach leaders, teams, Product Owners, Product Managers, and Scrum Masters in Lean-Agile practices and mindsets
    • Help identify, manage, and mitigate risks and issues.
    • Manage and track dependencies and ensure dependencies to not become progress blockers.
    • Identify, escalate, and track impediments.
    • Provide input on resourcing to address critical bottlenecks.
    • Encourage collaboration between teams and System and Solution Architects/Engineering Work with Product and Solution Management, Product Owners, and other stakeholders to help ensure strategy and execution alignment.
    • Improve the flow of value through value streams by improving and assessing the practices associated with DevOps and Release on Demand in the Continuous Delivery Pipeline.
    • Help drive the Lean User Experience (UX) innovation cycle.
    • Work with the Agile Technology team to improve Agile engineering practices. This includes:
      • Working with the Technical Leads in implementation of technology and tools to improve the CI / CD process. This includes Automated Regression, Test Driven Development, code quality tools, lower environment quality (data and software), and automation of builds and deployments. Coaching teams as needed on CI / CD tools and processes.
      • Working to reduce the time between completed 'coding' and the migration of that code to Production (even if that code is behind a Feature Flag.
      • Adopting Automated Regression tools and building an Automated Regression suite.
      • Adopting code quality tools (like SonarQube) and other tools to facilitate response time evaluation and security monitoring.
    • Work with the Agile Program Management Office (APMO) - should it exist - on program execution and operational excellence.
    • Understand and operate within Lean Budgets and ensure adherence to budget Guardrails
    • Facilitate frequent (potentially once a sprint) demos and Program Sprint reviews or teams to demonstrate progress and concerns to leadership, stakeholders, and Product groups.
    • Drive relentless improvement via various Retrospective workshops to include post Program Increment Retrospective, Scrum of Scrum Retrospectives, etc.
    • Facilitate completing the Agile Quarterly assessment of the agility level of the Agile teams within the Program and help them improve by working on low scores.
    • Ensure Scrum Masters are keeping the Wells Fargo Agile Registry up to date and accurate.
    • Foster Communities of Practice and the use of engineering and Built-In Quality practices.
    • Ensure Non-Functional Requirements (part of DoD) are clear. Facilitate the identification and documentation of NFRs (including categorization into 'required' or 'optional').
    • Facilitate and update Program level Definition of Ready (DoR), Definition of Done (DoD), and Program Agreements.
    • Pursue enablement programs for team members being multi-skilled. Specifically, Pursue transformation efforts of team members from being 'I' skilled (expert in 1 skill) to 'T' skilled (expert in one skill with knowledge or other skills) to 'E' skilled (expert in multiple skills).
Required Qualifications, US:
  • Either 1 year as a Release Train Engineer or participation in 6 Quarterly Planning Sessions
  • 3 Years as a Scrum Master

  • SAFe SPC or SAFe SSM certification
Job Expectations:
  • Training: Have excellent training skills and experience in remote training and tools.
    • Be highly competent in building training materials (that reinforces the Wells Fargo Agile Playbook).
    • Work with the Agile Coaches and provide training as needed to facilitate the successful execution of the Program.
    • Conduct retrospectives on the Training for continuous improvement.
  • Metrics: Be highly skilled at building and reporting 'action oriented' metrics.
    • Experience with Jira and Jira Align and associated reporting tools. Be able to produce extracts and reports from Jira and Jira Align.
    • Leveraging the Agile Registry and information to produce reports. Included is working with the Scrum Masters and Kanban Leads on keeping the Agile Registry accurate.
    • Knowledge of Tableau and able to work with Tableau developers in building reporting tools for Agile Transformation and our Objectives and Key Results.
    • Helping to identify and report Metrics (Burn-down, Predictability, Burn-Up, Quality/Defect, Testing - both Unit and Automated, etc.)
    • Team training (Scrum and Kanban) based on Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).
    • Defect creation and tracking.
