The Financial Analyst is the business partner to the Profit Center Leader and is responsible for ensuring complete and accurate branch financials, financial reporting and analysis, driver-based budgeting, and strategic planning. The Financial Analyst is the business partner to the Profit Center Leader and is responsible for ensuring complete and accurate branch financials, financial reporting and analysis, driver-based budgeting, and strategic planning. WHAT YOU'LL DO:
- Analyze and track results relating to year-on-year growth, profitability, performance to budget and forecast across a broad range of metrics in support of business and finance leaders while seeking to optimize business performance.
- Lead or support all aspects of financial operations, including accounts receivable, expense analytics, compensation structure, vendor management, scalability modeling, strategic partnerships, and financial and company strategy.
- Collaborate with corporate finance to verify cash receipts, cash disbursements, journal entries and vendor/insurance company payables. Review month end journal entries and cost allocations to ensure complete and accurate monthly financial statements.
- Prepare branch financials, analysis, commentary, and presentation material for financial review meetings and respond to ad hoc requests.
- Learn all corporate guidelines including the Brown and Brown Accounting Guidelines to ensure rigorous control environment.
- Work jointly with office leaders to identify KPIs to develop detailed driver-based budget and dynamic forecast models that guide high quality decision-making.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with corporate departments and operational teams throughout the organization.
- Work with the DFO on special projects that may be assigned from time to time.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
- Bachelor's Degree
- 3+ years in an accounting and finance position
- Travel up to 10%
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting and Finance preferred
- MBA/MACC/CPA preferred
