Robert Half is looking for a cost accountant to join our client! The Cost Accountant is a critical role responsible for the ongoing analysis of product cost, development of new product cost and margin analysis. You will also work closely with the sales teams and senior financial management team to establish customer pricing. Key responsibilities

- Estimate new and proposed product costs

- Monitor the cycle count program and conduct physical inventories

- Put into action a standard costing methodology for domestic plants

- Analyze and recommend costs and cost savings

- Develop and support the cost accounting system, documents, and records of the organization

- Assemble reports that specify and compare factors that affect prices and profitability of products or services

- Log a detailed record of collected data

- Perform variance analysis, including Purchase Price to Cost variance, cost revaluation, Invoice to PO price variances and work order variances

- Analyze manufacturing costs and prepare regular reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs

- Follow Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) for financial statements

- Review changes in goods or services provided in order to determine what effect it has on the cost

- Analyze projects and data to determine costs of business activity such as raw material purchases, inventory, and labor usage, waste

- Assist in general ledger preparation and audits

- Generate and complete internal cost audits

- Bachelors degree in accounting or related field

- Strong understanding of organizational accounting concepts

- 2 years of Cost Accounting work experience

- Attentive, ability to work independently and prioritize tasks

- Understanding of cost management methodologies, activities, and cost pools based on direct and indirect cost rates

- Aptitude for analyzing financial data and generating accurate reports in a timely manner

- Extremely detailed and analytical
