Job Description

PER DIEM

  • POSITION SUMMARY
    • Performs a variety of duties relating to the provision of meals to patients and customers and nourishment to patients.
  • KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Organize and set up salad and sandwich deli area; prepares deli sandwiches.
    • Organize and set up grill area, works as customer services representative taking and preparing food orders.
    • Organize and set up steam station, works as customer services representative taking and fulfilling food orders.
    • Organize and set up pizza station, prepares pizza, works with supervisor to maintain par levels for presentation on heat table.
    • Sets up production equipment for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Ensures that all items needed for the area are ready and available. Fill stock items as needed, serves customers.
    • Uses a variety of kitchen utensils and equipment including slicers, mixers, blenders, grill, toaster, cash register, processors, and frappe machine. To maintain a level of customer driven expectations.
    • Ensures that all foods prepared meet existing standards for quality, freshness, taste, and appearance.
    • Ensures that all cooking equipment and utensils used are inspected and maintained for cleanliness and proper operation. Maintains work area in a clean and orderly manner.
    • Ensures that all required sanitary levels are maintained throughout the food preparation process.
    • Alerts supervisor to problems and needs concerning equipment and food supplies. Detects and reports spoiled or unattractive food, defective supplies, equipment or other unusual conditions.
    • Follows recipe guidelines to produce a consistent menu item.
    • Maintains demand or volume necessary to complete each meal period.
    • Follows proper food handling techniques using HACCP standards. Records food and food storage temperatures as required.
    • Operates and safety uses all types of food service production equipment.
    • Follows proper food portion standards.
    • Uses FIFO standards when utilizing food supplies.
    • Participates in opening and closing responsibilities.
    • Performs cashier duties as assigned, and addresses any overages or shortages within established guidelines.
    • Assists in dish washing and other clean up, helps co-workers whenever possible.
    • Participates in role in fire safety, quality management, food safety, disaster plan, accident prevention and reporting, and infection control.
    • Preforms general routine and non-routine cleaning duties.
    • Maintains work area in a clean and orderly manner.
    • Ensures that equipment and utensils used are inspected and maintained for cleanliness and proper operation.
    • Responsible for meeting Manchester Board of Health, State and TJC standards.
    • Maintains a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers.
  • REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
    • Ability to establish and maintain effective communications and positive working relationships within the department, with other employees, and the public.
    • Ability to proceed alone following standard practices for routine procedures, and refer questions or problems to supervisor.
    • Exercises care in the operation and use of equipment and reference materials.
  • EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/LICENSURE
    • Education: High school diploma or a GED is strongly preferred.
    • Experience: 1-2 years of patient, customer service experience preferred.
    • Certification/Licensure: Serve Safe Certification preferred.

  • OTHER REQUIREMENTS
    • Schedule: Variable, every other weekend, 5:30am to 7:30pm, rotating major holidays.
