Job Overview

As an Agile Coach, you will coach, train and support multiple teams on their understanding of Agile to deliver on their backlog by teaching and enforcing agile practices, facilitating ceremonies, helping to identify and remove impediments and shielding them from external distractions. You will be an advocate of the agile methodologies, leverage a suite of collaborative and project-related tools to determine coaching opportunities. You will also coach and train domain leadership to build an agile mindset that is focused on business value, driving outcomes, and a faster time to market.

Essential Functions

  • Build and coach multiple high performing agile development pods
  • Build and coach high performing agile development pods
  • Look for ways to strengthen team’s understanding of Agile, e.g., Scrum concepts and principles
  • Teach, mentor and improve Agile practices across the product/platform
  • Coach and train product/platform leadership on building an Agile enterprise that is more focused on business value, driving outcomes, and a faster time to market
  • Drive consistent behaviors across the product/platform by standing up a community of practice
  • Bring transparency to the organization about development and grow trust
  • Monitor health of the collective team, checking that commitments, pace and quality are on track then help the team understand how to inspect & adapt where needed
  • Empower leadership teams in building, growing, and sustaining a thriving Agile community
  • Coach the product team to identify trade-offs between short and long term benefits to drive shared vision between the team
  • Foster a continuous learning environment, pressure and embrace the uncomfortable, and help teams to inspect & adapt

Qualifications and Competencies

  • BA or BS Degree or equivalent work experience
  • 3+ years of relevant work experience in agile coaching
  • 3+ years proven experience with large scale software delivery and/or Agile transformation at scale in large enterprise organizations
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and facilitation skills
  • Experience making teams accountable and motivated to strive for continuous improvement
  • Ability to lead a large team from different functions, with varying skills, expertise and tenure
  • Assertive, with the confidence to be voice of authority – not afraid to do what is best for the team
  • Brings a high-energy and passionate outlook to the job and can influence those around them
  • Able to build a sense of trust and rapport that creates a comfortable & effective workplace
