Position Summary
We are hiring Assemblers for our State College Team. This performs limited electronic, electromechanical, mechanical and support production assembly and functions of a repetitive nature to build and assemble routine units.
Essential Job Duties
- May perform routine tasks in preparation for assembly such as cutting wire to specified size, stripping, tinning, or bending wire parts, wiring and fastening terminal connections
- Assembles and installs various electrical or electronic components where operation and sequence are specified by blueprints, diagrams, or established operations practices
- Uses various common hand tools such as wire strippers, wrenches, screwdrivers, pliers
- May operate automatic and semi-automatic assembly/production equipment
- Notifies group leader or supervisor of quality or other issues
- May be assigned to Wiring, Epoxy, Final Assembly/Lensing, and other areas
- May perform solder touch-up or solder of parts as a secondary operation
- May train other assemblers
- May complete other duties as assigned
Qualifications Required
- US work authorization is a precondition of employment. The company will not consider candidates who require sponsorship for a work-authorized visa.
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of one year of assembly experience in a manufacturing or production environment preferred
- Manual dexterity with hands and tools used in assembly operations
- Basic understanding of hand tools required for assembling electronic components
- Operations may require the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to: eye safety glasses, gowning, masks, hearing protectors and any other required PPE
- Good hand to hand and hand to eye coordination
- Willing to perform repetitive tasks while sitting or standing for extended periods of time
- Operating within standard operating procedures (SOPs) and assembly drawings
- Able to follow written and verbal instructions
- Strong attention to detail, while multi-tasking under strict deadlines
- Basic computer skills required
