THE ROLE

We are looking for an authentic connector with a strong background in creating meaningful experiences and running seamless operations to join our team as the Assistant General Manager at Life House South of 5th. The Assistant General Manager is responsible for the operations, financial performance, and culture of the property. The role will report to the General Manager and will manage a team of House Managers and F&B operations.Their time will roughly be split 80% of F&B operations and 20% on hotel operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead team of House Managers and restaurant team members
  • Ensure on-brand and high quality hotel and restaurant guest experience
  • Ensure property operates in alignment with our brand standards and SOPs
  • Create experiences for organic human connection and a sense of belonging for our guests
  • Own and troubleshoot any on-property or guest issues
  • Recruit, hire, and train house managers and all restaurant FOH employees
  • Schedule House Manager and restaurant FOH staff efficiently to provide a high quality guest experience while maintaining a labor cost below budget
  • Ensure that costs are being effectively managed to allow the property to hit its budgeted NOI
  • Manage operating supplies and liquor inventories
  • Manage special projects such as property improvements, special events, menu improvements, etc.
  • Collaborate with the chef to ensure culinary standards are being maintained and food cost is below budget
  • Collaborate with lead bartender to ensure bar standards are being maintained and beverage cost is below budget
  • Manage VIPs
  • Establish and maintain a positive workplace culture and a sense of community

QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE:

  • Min 1 years hotel experience
  • Min 3 years restaurant experience
  • Min 2 years management experience
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Strong track record of managing controllable expenses, motivating teams and maintaining exceptional service levels through a keen eye for detail
  • Proficient in basic HR functions such as hiring, training, scheduling, etc
  • Proficient in basic computer skills such as excel, POS software, PMS software, etc
  • Experienced with G-Suite and its various applications (docs, sheets, calendar, etc.)
  • Familiar with Asana and Slack (preferred)
  • Familiar with Apple products and applications (preferred)
