Job Details

Summary:
Assist with the planning, and perform work involved in operating and keeping machines, mechanical equipment or the fixture/structure of an establishment properly maintained for safe and efficient operation in accordance with established practices, processes, regulations, guidelines and standards in a safe and efficient manner.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Other duties may be assigned.

Abide by, enforce and participate in the implementation and ongoing oversight of all company safety standards and regulations.

Assist with the planning, and perform work involved in operating and keeping machines, mechanical equipment or the fixture/structure of an establishment properly maintained for safe and efficient operation

Performs preventive maintenance and skilled repairs on complex production equipment or physical structures and systems (e.g. mechanical, electrical, hydraulic)

Clean or lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, or other parts of machinery

Adjust functional parts of devices or control instruments, using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, or straightedges

Repair or replace defective equipment/machine parts, or physical structures using hand tools and power tools, and reassemble equipment

Maintain, repair, assemble and build equipment, machinery, electrical or electronic components

Disassemble, assemble, install, or repair wiring, electrical or electronic components, machinery, or equipment

Inspect, operate, or test machinery or equipment to diagnose machine/equipment and/or electronic malfunctions or defects in physical structures or electrical control panels

Inspect drives, motors, and belts, check fluid levels, replace filters, or perform other maintenance actions, following standard procedures

Maintain accurate records on work requests and completion, type and cost of maintenance or repair work

Diagnose mechanical and/or electrical problems and determine how best to correct them, checking blueprints, electrical schematics, repair manuals, internet resources, or parts catalogs, as necessary

Communicate with supervisor and relevant personnel on work progress, status, and any unusual circumstances or issues Design and fabricate machine guards and other similar devices as needed

Train junior or new associates in appropriate safety procedures, work instructions and quality standards

Participate in training and continuous learning opportunities; meet training and/or certification requirements of the job, department, product, or area as designated/defined in work instructions and quality standards


Computer Skills:
Proficiency in the following technologies are needed to be successful in this job:
Facility Management and/or Maintenance software, PLC software, Planned Maintenance software, Microsoft office suite applications, tools and software.

Certificates and Licenses:
Trade-specific local, state and/or national licenses required to perform the duties and responsibilities of the job successfully.

Other Qualifications:
This position requires specific knowledge in the following areas to be successful:
  • Trade-specific local, state and federal health, safety and environmental regulations;
  • Exceptionally skilled in the hands-on maintenance, diagnosis and repair of designated plant and equipment within the limits of the skills and knowledge of the trade;
  • Low voltage electrical control
  • Mechanical power transmission
  • Predictive Maintenance
  • Electrical troubleshooting
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook
  • Knowledge of the fundamentals of electricity, both AC and DC, and Arc Flash Hazards
  • Knowledge electrical and electronic testing equipment
