Lead Architect
Job Summary: Leads the complex design and analysis of complete frameworks, systems or products. Develops specifications for new products, applications, or software enhancements and integration concepts. Has in-depth knowledge of and designs the overall shaping of future products by contributing to the framework used across multiple products or systems. Coordinates the work of others to ensure project completion, provides technical expertise, and conceives new ideas for current weaknesses and future initiatives. Work is performed without appreciable direction.
Essential Duties
- Lead the design, maintenance, and implementation of complex architectural frameworks that support core organizational functions
- Partner with assigned business unit technical staff to ensure application and system architecture meet current and future business needs
- Lead the development and execution of test plans to ensure quality of the infrastructure and system development
- Keep apprised of industry trends and recommend technologies that will increase cost effectiveness and systems flexibility
- Lead the teams support of programs during and after implementation, which may include delegation of tasks, creation of training materials, upgrades, or program enhancements
- Lead the analysis and evaluation of current application or system architecture to determine areas that need improvement or expanded functionality
- Lead design and implementation that contributes to the strategic vision for technology solutions that enhance business processes and productivity
- Develop, identify, and follow best practices for integrations of new technology
- Research, design, and, develop new or enhanced technologies that meet criteria resulting from business or performance improvement requirements
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree with major course work in computer science, MIS, or a related field is required. Equivalent work experience in a similar position may be substituted for education requirements.
- Typical candidate will have 10-14 years of experience with system design and analysis, project or program management, architecture and/or a related field. Certifications and/or educational experience may count towards experience.
