Packaging Assistant

AstenJohnson is looking to add a Packaging Associate at our Williston, VT site. The shift for this position is Sun, Mon, Tues 7pm-7am and every other Sat 7pm-7am.

General Scope of Responsibilities:

The Packaging associate is responsible for the packaging of finished goods and filling of racks for doff changes.

Specific Responsibilities:

• Responsible for overseeing the boxing of finished goods and data entry
• Setting up and filling of the racks for doff changes
• Follow AstenJohnson boxing procedures
• Empty trash and spool boxes from the shop floor
• Storing boxing material on arrival to site
• Maintain a clean area using the 5S system
• Perform other duties assigned by supervisors

• Ability to read, write, communicate and comprehend written and verbal instructions
• Detail orientated
• Positive attitude and team player
• Ability to think and plan ahead
• Knowledge of sequential orientation especially with numbers
• Ability to operate a forklift
• Knowledge of basic math/algebra

Education/Experience/Certification:

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required
• 1+ Years of manufacturing experience preferred
• Forklift certification or ability to become certified
• Familiarization / experience / certifications with Lean Sigma concepts preferred

Working Conditions:

Bending, stooping, climbing stairs and lifting 55 pounds daily is required. Standing, walking for 10+ hours of shift is required. Candidate will be exposed to noise, fluctuating temperatures, and industrial equipment. Candidate must be able to wear all required safety equipment.
