What We Need From You

Barnes Healthcare Services is seekingan Infusion Pharmacy Technicianto work in our fast-paced, growing infusion pharmacy. The successful candidate will be a self-starter with high attention to detail. As an organization, our purpose is to take care of people which means seeing the patients entire needs and ensuring the right team members in any of our service lines are aware of opportunities to improve the patients health. The Pharmacy Technician will assist with the preparation, packing, and delivery of products and services to patients. The ideal candidate is experienced in all aspects of medication compounding and has played a significant role in the coordination of patient services. ThePharmacy Technician, under the direction of the Pharmacist, is responsible for preparing IV MEDS safely for patients, adhering to established protocols for State and Federal standards, and other regulatory entities.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES will be:

  • Prepares medications under the supervision of apharmacist so they are appropriately concentrated.
  • Pickand pack medical supplies to fill patient orders.
  • Dispense products in the computer system togenerate a delivery ticket and/or prescription labels.
  • Ensures that a licensed pharmacist properly checks allcompounding and packing.
  • Claim adjudication when required to dispense.
  • Contact patients and/or caregivers to schedule a delivery and determine supply needs.
  • Confirm delivery tickets after delivery.
  • Accurately calibrates equipment.
  • Assists withthe maintenance of pharmacy temperature and cleaning logs
  • Ensures all pharmacy surfaces, laminar flowhoods, and clean rooms are cleaned per company policy.
  • Adheres to appropriate safety and quality assurance practices.
  • Complies withstate and federal laws.
  • Manage time effectively to fulfill responsibilities.
  • Maximize work efficiencythrough the use of computers and other technologies.
  • Assists with product purchasing, inventory, andequipment management.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient and proprietary information.
  • Maintain aprofessional image at all times.
  • High School Diploma and/or GED required
  • Registered Pharmacy Technician required in the State of Florida.
  • Thorough working knowledge of IV medications, sterile IV mixtures, and aseptic procedures and working knowledge of basic pharmaceutical calculations
  • Proficient with 797 Guidelines
  • Excellent communication skills, ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team under stressful conditions at times and under time constraints.
