Outpatient Coding Auditor - This individual will conduct Professional OP audits on coders and vendor coders/auditors by reviewing documentation and coder assigned ICD-10-CM codes, Evaluation and Management codes, CPT procedure codes and modifiers in all Outpatient chart types. She/he will identify coding patterns and trends, respond to coding/auditing questions, and provide detailed educational feedback to coders and vendor auditors based on national coding guidelines.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Perform OP Coding audits, utilizing various auditing tools
- Analyze code assignments and interpret documentation from medical records
- Clearly document audit findings and recommend coder education based on those findings
- Articulate and summarize audit findings, referencing acceptable coding guidelines
- Audit onshore and offshore coders and auditors
- Stay abreast of relevant professional outpatient coding and billing guidelines
- Research and recommend education to coders based on individual audit outcomes
- Prioritize multiple assignments and multiple spreadsheets, documents and reports and switch gears as needed to accomplish auditing assignments

Required Qualifications:
- Must have at least one of the following: Outpatient Coding Credential (Certified Professional Coding (CPC), Certified Outpatient Coder (COC) or Certified Coding Specialist- Professional (CCS-P)
- 5+ years of experience in Professional outpatient Coding in various chart types
- 3+ years of Professional Outpatient Audit experience in various chart types
- 3+ years of experience in working with national coding guidelines for assignment of ICD-10 CM codes, CPT codes E/M codes and modifiers
- 3+ years of experience assigning Evaluation of management codes in multi professional specialties
- 3+ years of experience with various Electronic Medical Records (Epic, Cerner, etc.)
- 3+ years of experience with advance skills with Excel, Outlook, Word and other business applications
Preferred Qualifications:
- Additional coding credentials: Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) and/or Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), Certified Professional medical Auditor (CPMA)
- Experienced in assigning and auditing codes and documentation in multiple Outpatient facility chart types
- Industry Knowledge of Medicare regulations and payment policies, including OPPS
- Understands NCCI/OCE billing edits as it relates to outpatient coding
- Team player and willing to share coding knowledge and expertise
- Proficient professional verbal and written communication skills

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $66,100 to $118,300. The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada residents is $72,800 to $129,900.
