About the Position
The Benefit and Compensation Analyst supports Employees to ensure employee benefit programs and offerings are in alignment with organization policies and guidelines, are competitive, and are compliant with local and legal regulations.
Examine and evaluate employee benefit and compensation programs. Assist in research and development of policies regarding benefit programs. Coordinate development of marketing and training materials for benefit and compensation programs.
*This position hosts a hybrid model with weekly in office days as well as remote.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Evaluate and recommend and implement employee benefit and compensation programs.
- Assist in research and development of policies regarding benefit programs. Coordinate development of marketing and training materials for benefit and compensation programs. Prepares and conducts presentations of benefits materials. Support the benefit plan renewal process. Identify long range objectives regarding benefit programs.
- Supports compensation functions and projects. Performs research/compiles statistics/analyzes data to prepare statistical reports for management review; creates and maintains data bases; conducts/participates in compensation studies to determine and recommend class/salary grade; evaluates internal/external equity issues.
- Serve as contact for plan vendors, third party administrators and employees providing timely excellent customer service. Coordinates transfer of data to external contacts for services, premiums and plan administration. Investigate discrepancies and provide information in non-routine situations.
- Evaluate and revise internal processes to reduce costs and increase efficiency. Ensure compliance with applicable government regulations and organizational policy. Assure timeliness and accuracy of required filings.
- Assists in processing of leave of absence and accommodation requests.
- Processes daily/monthly billings in conjunction with accounting.
- Maintains benefits databases. Prepares regular benefit/comp reports extracting data from the database.
- Provide customer service support to internal and external customers. Develop communication tools to enhance understanding of the organization's benefits package.
- Demonstrate safe work practices through awareness and observation in support of a safety culture; reports any potential hazards or accidents.
- Other duties as assigned.
Experience:
- Two (2) to years in benefits or related benefits administration.
- Excellent communication and organization skills are required.
- Project and team management/leadership skills and experience. Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Capability of effective planning and priority setting. Ability to manage several complex projects simultaneously while working under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical skills and a thorough knowledge of plan designs. Ability to understand, evaluate and make judgment on the proposals.
- Knowledge of benefit contract language. Knowledge of all pertinent federal and state regulations, filing and compliance requirements.
