Job Description

Responsible for working in the café, tray line and dish machine area. Responsible also for cleanliness of the work area and the safe and sanitary handling of food, equipment and supplies.

Essential Functions

• Operates the Cash Register
• Complies with established sanitation standards, personal hygiene and health standards. Observes proper food preparation and handling techniques.
• Correctly prepares all food served following standard recipes and special diet orders.
• Plans food production to coordinate with meal serving hours so that excellence, quality, temperature and appearance of food are preserved.
• Keeps work area neat and clean at all times; cleans and maintains equipment used in food preparation.
• Operates the dish machine, cleaning of the dish machine and maintaining sanitary conditions in the dish washing room and pot and pan area.
• Keeps serving areas neat and clean, dishes food in a pleasing appetizing manner.
• Handles dishes, food, supplies, pots and pans and equipment with the proper sanitary techniques.

Demonstrates excellent customer service through his/her attitude and actions, consistent with the standards contained in the Mission, Vision and Values of the organization.

Other Duties

• Performs other duties as requested.
• Participates in departmental or organizational meetings and trainings.
• Demonstrates ability to use equipment relevant to the position.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position does not provide direct supervisory responsibilities.

Education, Experience & Skills Required

• The Dietary Aide position does not require any formal training nor does it have set educational requirements.
• Must have the ability to perform good sanitary techniques and understand therapeutic diets.
