The Position

As the SVP, Payor/Provider you lead our industry leading payor/provider discipline focused on three core areas:
  1. Mentoring and growing our communications team
  2. Driving business growth with new and existing clients
  3. Serving as a thought leader across the industry through outreach to c-suite leadership, representation at industry conferences, and in Revive's owned channels

This role gives you a position to be a key leader of not only teams, but of growth - in relationships and revenue - for our Payor/Provider discipline. You understand the business of healthcare like the back of your hand, and specifically the nuances of how providers get paid for their services from private insurance companies and government entities. You have a keen interest in understanding the trends and behaviors of health insurance companies and the implications of those for providers in the ever-changing landscape. You deliver those insights to our clients, prospects, and the industry at large - all with a focus on leading our Payor/Provider discipline and impact for our client partners. You nurture client relationships as a trusted advisor on the business of healthcare through every step of the relationship. You are invested in the growth of your team to ensure Revive's place as the top payor/provider practice in the industry. The Responsibilities

Includes, but not limited to the following:
  • Serve as lead for the Payor/Provider discipline, overseeing all staff and executing against an approved vision for the continued growth of the discipline beyond today's $8.5m in revenue.
  • Serve as the leader and mentor to the team supporting the discipline through development, coaching, and a clear and defined vision.
  • Oversee strategic planning and program development, bringing together a diverse team of specialists to solve our clients' complex business problems
  • Champion the build out of the group through specialized and qualified hires or acquisitions to build a complete group capable of offering specialized negotiation strategy, analytics support, and communications strategy to each client.
  • Invested in the professional growth for team members - at all levels - by leveraging both internal and external offerings for advancement.
  • Work across teams and disciplines to ensure the right experience and roles are cast for each client, with an emphasis on expanding engagements into new areas
  • Spearhead agency projects focused on team culture, staff education, and skill building in ways that expand the bench and bring the wider agency up to speed
  • Serves as a trusted partner and confidante for clients
  • Understands the business of healthcare, and specifically how payment methodologies impact overall business performance for providers
  • Track all developments in the payor/provider landscape and continually update a POV on the state of relations and the issues providers must be prepared to address - being one step ahead of the industry.
  • Translate an in-depth knowledge of the health insurance landscape to anticipate where managed care is headed from the viewpoint of providers, payors, and policymakers
  • Stays attuned to current and historical behaviors and trends to shape a POV on what's next, and defines how that impacts communications strategies for clients
  • Brings relevant and unique insights to clients, new business prospects and the industry through thought leadership and through great work
  • Understand client needs and translates that into strategy that helps the client achieve their goals
  • Oversee business growth and leads new business calls, identify, and conducts outreach to prospects, and engages with clients to grow our revenue in the Payor/Provider discipline - setting regular plans and measuring impact along the way
  • Identifies growth opportunities by understanding and sharing the agency's integrated offerings with clients as relevant to their business needs
  • Serve as a Revive spokesperson for industry speaking events, blog posts, and thought leadership content focused on Payor/Provider issues
  • Looks for new opportunities to expand our services and areas of practice in any way that makes sense for the group and the agency

  • Other trusted members of the industry reached out to me for advice and guidance

The Essentials
  • Full grasp and understanding of the dynamics between health insurers and provider organizations/health systems from all angles
  • Has an established network and relationships with provider organizations and their managed care teams
  • Comfortable engaging with managed care teams at provider organizations to talk contract trends
  • Demonstrated experience in communicating about health insurance contracts from the provider or payor perspective to a variety of stakeholder groups
  • Strong demonstration of leading teams and setting a vision for team members that is achievable and advances the group
  • 10+ years of agency or in-house healthcare experience required
  • HIPPA compliance/regulation knowledge
  • Comfortable working in an open office environment (as pandemic restrictions allow)
  • Willingness to travel (as pandemic restrictions allow)
  • Experience negotiating contractual details for health systems is a plus but not required

  • Ability to multitask, and delegate, working in a high-volume environment
