HVAC Training Instructor and Materials Developer

Purpose of Position: Training Facility Management, Materials Development, and Instruction

• Support corporate goals to assist the Training Team in our efforts to develop and instruct modern, up-to-date product, installation, and service training materials.
• Working as a team player, assist with upgrades to and development of a Training Academy facility
• Develop materials for new interactive course materials for use in PowerPoint with qualified testing

Essential Duties

• Develop, create, update, and organize Fujitsu HVAC training materials used in training classes as directed by the Director of Training, to improve content and create consistency nationwide.
• Create and present interactive training materials in house and regionally for a diverse audience, including technical and sales related content with contractors, distributors, sales reps, and Fujitsu staff.
• Manage and maintain Training Academy facility to support product sales, installation, and service.
• Work independently at the Martinez, CA facility and when necessary, from home, while accepting input, scheduling, supervision, and direction as integral part of a remote team

Other Duties

• Work may require communication and travel evenings and occasionally weekend hours.
• The individual will report to the Director of Training and will perform duties as required.
• Independent accomplishment of tasks and assignments while working as part of a remote team.
• Qualifications

Skills:

• Self-motivated individual with the ability to manage a remote training facility and interact with a national team
• A high level of proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint and other Windows based programs is essential.
• A technical background with ability to understand and teach the HVAC refrigeration cycle and electrical controls
• A demonstratable ability to produce and instruct quality, interactive training material.
• Solid presentation skills, people skills and diplomacy dealing with diversity and regional mores.
• Production oriented with excellent time management skills with desire and ability to consistently exceed quotas
• The ability to learn new skills, take on new tasks, use new software and retain complex instructions.

Requirements:

• 10-20 years' experience in the HVAC industry including training, material development, or related experience.
• Experienced with PC computers and software, including PowerPoint, and Microsoft Office programs.
• Individual must be capable of and available for occasional travel by airline, personal vehicle, or rental car.
• A clean driver's license, reliable transportation, a major credit card, high speed internet access and cellular phone service at a home office location.
• Physically and mentally capable of a fast-paced work week with long distance travel by air or car when needed.
• Criminal background check conducted prior to hiring - must pass a drug screening test for controlled substances.

Preferred Capabilities:

• Bi-Lingual in English and Spanish, both verbal and written for technical content a major plus.
• Experience with Mini-splits and VRF equipment and operation a major plus
• Experienced with Articulate Storyline and or Moodle LMS software. Light HTML editing experience a plus
• Editing of graphics, video, and audio a plus

Location: Martinez, CA (Hybrid) (Relocation Assistance)

Pay Range: $90-105k yearly + $10k bonus
