Quality Inspector I (1st Shift and 2nd Shift)



Job Description

Job Summary

Inspects product and monitors the manufacturing process according to established standards. Works under the guidance of the Quality Manager or Quality Engineer.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct inspections and evaluations to identify nonconforming material and equipment.
  • Support the nonconforming material system to implement containment and dispositions.
  • Represent the Quality Team as a point of contact for daily production support.

Requirements

  • Education
    1. High school diploma is required.
  • Experience
    1. Experience working in a manufacturing or industrial work setting is required.
    2. Ability to interpret mechanical drawings, specifications and schematics is required.
    3. Experience in a Quality Control role is preferred.
    4. Experience with various physical and mechanical inspections is preferred.
    5. Working knowledge and proficiency with SPC and basic quality tools (check sheets, flow charts, control charts, histograms, and scatter diagrams) is preferred.
  • Skills
    1. Attention to detail is required.
    2. Ability to understand complex situations, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions is required.
    3. Effective written and oral communication skills relative to quality and technical issues is required.
    4. Ability to work independently with minimal oversight is required.
  • Computer
    1. Basic level knowledge of MS Word and Excel is required.
    2. Basic level knowledge of MS Outlook is preferred.
  • Physical
    1. Ability to use various hand-held measuring devices is required (tape measure and caliper).
    2. Ability to sit, stand and walk for up to 12 hours or more per day is required.
    3. Ability to lift and carry up to 10 lbs. on a limited basis, and up to 40 lbs. occasionally is required.
    4. Ability to work with both hands and both feet on a regular basis is required.
  • Other
    1. Have the flexibility to adjust work hours to meet manufacturing schedule requirements.
