Role:

We are seeking a Finance Sr. Manager, preferably with experience in the software industry. In this role, you will support Splunks largest business segment and be the direct partner to the SVP of Americas. The ideal candidate will have a CFO mindset, commanding full P&L ownership and leading all recurring FP&A activities. This position will partner closely with sales executives and operations teams to influence resource allocation, and support strategic investment decisions that achieve high growth while balancing profitability. Successful candidates should demonstrate deep finance knowledge and the capacity to serve as a highly effective partner and thought leader, both within the business and across the Finance organization. They are curious, excellent collaborators who demonstrate the ownership, drive and judgment to work effectively and independently in support of a fast growing sales organization. This role reports to our Global Sales FP&A Senior Director

Responsibilities: I want to and can do that!

  • Develop strong relationships with Regional Sales Executives to support our strategic and financial planning processes, the annual plan, and monthly financial forecasts as well as the underlying financial planning models, systems and tools
  • In partnership with Theater Strategy & Sales Operations, develop and monitor leading performance indicators for both growth and productivity, highlighting trends and analyzing causes of unexpected variances in performance
  • Synthesize and communicate monthly business performance to our senior leaders, including actuals vs forecast and budget variance analysis, business KPIs, assessing business operating performance, and proactive communication of risks and opportunities
  • Partner cross-functionally to help budget holders understand how they are spending relative to targets; answer important questions about resource allocation, trade-offs, and more
  • Offer strategic recommendations: Identify and communicate opportunities for cost savings, growth opportunities, and business model efficiencies
  • Perform monthly close activities, including accrual preparation, in collaboration with our accounting team.
  • Collaborate with various functional departments and internally within Finance

Requirements: Ive already done that or have that!

  • Bachelors in Accounting, Finance, or economics
  • 10+ years of progressive financial planning & analysis experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Capable of communicating complex financial information in an easy-to-understand format. Able to interact comfortably with the executive management team
  • Strong relationship building and communication skills, experience and desire to work cross-functionally and be a contributing team member
  • Highly energetic and self-motivated; ability to think creatively and quickly with minimal direction and information
  • Strong business and analytical skills; ability to multi-task, stay organized and prioritize deadlines in a continually evolving environment
  • Outstanding software and system skills, including Excel/Google sheets expertise.

Preferred Qualifications: Got it!

  • Prior experience in a software/SaaS company
  • Directly supported a large enterprise Sales and/or Go to Market organization
  • CPA, CFA or MBA
  • Experience working with SAP, Workday, Salesforce.com, Anaplan
