UnitedHealth Group is seeking a versatile Compensation Consultant reporting into the Director of Total Reward EMEA, to join our Regional Total Rewards Team. The role of EMEA Compensation Consultant will be contributing to development of the regional strategy ensuring alignment with the UHG Total Rewards globally. It will also be instrumental in ensuring delivery of the compensation programs in the region.

You will be able to identify opportunities for continuous improvement to service delivery, streamlining processes and enhancements to compensation programs offering to ensure operational excellence and exceptional employee experience.

The ability and flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment with competing and shifting priorities is essential in this position. Collaboration in this role is key as you will need to be proactive and build strong working relationships with Human Capital Partners in EMEA and globally. This position also requires a considerable level of initiative and significant attention to details. You will need to be comfortable working with ambiguity in a highly matrixed environment.

Primary Responsibilities:

Partner with the Enterprise Total Reward team to ensure compensation programs and practices are consistent on a global scale.

  • Manage pay benchmarking for EMEA countries, ensure the business is results-oriented in its ability to hire and retain the best talent.
  • Conduct comprehensive pay investigations using market data for EMEA, make recommendations to maintain competitiveness and present opportunities to the business for reviews.
  • Participate in salary surveys
  • Evaluate job descriptions and provide insights and recommendations for internal grading structure and relevant pay practice.
  • Deliver the successful planning and execution of the complex annual reward cycle activities including pay review and bonus awards, occasionally assist in benefits renewals in multiple geographies in EMEA
  • Serve as 1st point of contact for queries with respect to compensation matters including but not limited to salary management, compensation philosophy, programs, policies, retention needs, merges and acquisitions and re-organizations to help support the business strategic objectives.
  • Support local pay equity requirements (EMEA).
  • Ensures company compliance with local laws in EMEA.
  • Collaborate with HR Operations and ER team to ensure smooth, process motivated and compliant execution of compensation programs.
  • Collaborates with TA and Human Capital Partners on pay topics and internal and external pay queries.
  • Contributes to wider TR/HR projects globally and internationally.
  • Educates internal stakeholders about EMEA compensation strategies and processes.
  • Manages positive relationships with the business and ensures the reputation and regard for TR EMEA is strong with all stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Educated to a degree level in a related area such as Business, Finance, Human Resources or similar field.
  • Proven experience in managing compensation in a large corporate environment. International experience highly desirable.
  • Significant experience in Global/regional Compensation/Total Rewards roles
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Data oriented mindset, excellent analytical skills including the ability to analyse a variety of data, determine validity, draw conclusions and make recommendations in a clear, concise and easily understandable manner
  • Self-starter and results focused
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal
  • Ability to influence at all levels using data and research
  • It would be of advantage if you have also experience in managing benefits provision for the EMEA region.
