How you will make an impact
- Resolve payroll discrepancies via information collection and analysis
- Using federal and state regulations and guidelines, ensure company compliance
- Collect, calculate, and enter relevant data to maintain payroll records
- Perform any other duties that arise in the course of normal business operations
- Promote employee confidence by protecting payroll operations and keeping information confidential
- Track payroll record changes by entering updates in exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, and job title and department/division transfers
- Detail all payroll liabilities by establishing employee federal and state income and social security taxes and employer social security, unemployment, and worker compensation payment
- Manage employee deductions and other liabilities
- Compile all information in reference to summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages for reports
- Help payroll manage all internal and external audits
- Continue implementation of established policies and procedures to maintain payroll operations, reporting changes where necessary
- Manage payroll information requests and questions
- Handle specific weekly, monthly, quarterly, and year-end reports for department heads
- Manage and review, including verify, source documents
- Knowledge of federal and state payroll regulations and requirements
- Knowledgeable about internal controls
- Experience with high volume multi-state payroll, billing, licensing, AP, etc.
- Proficiency in bi-Monthly Payroll
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) experience preferred
- Experience with payroll systems for 100-500 employees
- Government Payors experience desired
- Proven knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Benefits payroll experience required
- Certified Payroll Professional will be given preference
- Understanding of basic accounting principles and solid financial acumen
- Strong analytical capabilities and discernment
- Relevant experience should include 2+ years in payroll
- Data entry, document management, file creation and previous records experience required
