Senior Accountant
Senior Accountant - Pharmaceutical Company - Norwood, MA
Meet Recruitment is partnered with a leading pharmaceutical company in the inflammatory disease space. They are on the search for a Senior Accountant to join their finance team! The Senior Staff Accountant is responsible for various aspects of accounting, specifically related to the month- and quarter-end close, including preparing and recording journal entries, maintaining control processes and testing, general ledger account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation and analysis.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide month- and quarter-end financial close support for key accounting areas, including preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Responsible for invoice review for internal control purposes and compliance with Company general ledger coding of invoices.
- Perform established control procedures to provide documentation and support, in compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.
- Assist with external audit requests, SEC financial reporting requirements and preparation of filed documents.
- Participate in ad hoc projects as needed (Purchase Order status reviews, ERP implementation assistance, etc.)
SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:
- 2+ years corporate staff accounting experience or CPA, or CPA track, with 2+ years public accounting and/or industry experience (ideally in a pharmaceutical or life sciences setting) and a knowledge of GAAP
- BS degree in Accounting/Finance or related degree
- Strong analytical and Microsoft Office skills, specifically Excel (intermediate level, including pivot tables, v-lookups, sumif formulas) and Word
