Job Summary

Black & Veatch has an exciting opportunity for a Program Manager. This position will be focused on the innovative and programmatic delivery of green stormwater infrastructure. The objectives of this program are to reduce combined sewer overflows, mitigate localized flooding, reduce urban heat island impacts, improve water quality, support ecosystems, and elevate equity through transformative stormwater investment.

Within our national practice of program management expertise and nature based solutions, we have seen consistent growth driven by our clients needs to address challenges associated with development, stormwater quality and flooding, equitable investment, and maximizing existing infrastructure to support population growth and resilience. This represents a strategic business initiative for Black & Veatch, and this Program Manager position is structured to help the company grow its market share by providing world-class engineering and program management services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manages all aspects of small Engineering Procurement Construction (EPC)/Service projects, including risk to cost, schedule, quality. Responsible for the day-to-day successful execution of contracted engineering, procurement, and construction scope in the areas of performance, financial metrics, planning, schedule, quality, contractual compliance, safety, and client satisfaction.

  • Proactively manages successful staffing of the project.

  • Manages and leads small teams of multi-discipline professionals.

  • Establish strategy for portfolio of small projects to meet key performance indicators.

  • Coordinates and integrates the activities associated with the engineering, procurement, construction, and maintenance elements, including the activities of all third party subcontractors to deliver Stormwater Green Infrastructure Projects.

  • Obtainsnew/repeat business on small projects.

Management Responsibilities

Acts as a project manager. Among responsibilities is management of a project team. The individual comprising this team may vary by project.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 15+ years of civil site design and/or stormwater experience

  • Experience with client-facing and business development efforts

  • Experience developing and executing green infrastructure planning and design projects

  • Capable of conducting site reconnaissance and remote investigations

  • Experience with regulatory requirements and procedure

  • PMP

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor of science degree.
