Manager, Program Inclusion

As WW is a company rooted in science, the Science team's purpose is to co-create member experiences and products, and to define and empower healthy habits for real life. During an exciting time of evolution, you will be joining a dynamic, global team of strategic-thinking experts in the clinical research, behavioral weight loss, and behavior change fields. You'll partner with the scientific community, have autonomy and hands-on ownership of meaningful projects, and have support and collaboration across the WW Science team. You'll work primarily on program innovation, with a focus on the consideration of diversity and inclusion in all of the work that we do, ensuring our program is for everyone.

We develop new program innovations, enhance our digital and in-person experiences, train our field staff, partner with universities on clinical research and collaborate with member data analytics, develop engaging content, conduct user research, and communicate externally about our program. We partner with our members, colleagues, and external advisors to discover and translate science so it is accessible and actionable to our members, no matter the context they are living our program in - while ensuring all WW solutions are rooted in science. The WW program is accessed by millions of people around the globe each week, in workshops, through the digital app, and on the website. The WW Science Program team focuses on ensuring that no matter how or where a member chooses to engage with WW, and no matter who the member is, they are getting the best of our proven weight management and wellness program.
The Science Program team works cross-functionally on:
Program Relevance: Ensure that current and new programs represent, address and celebrate the experiences and contexts of members from all cultures and backgrounds, meeting them where they are, and helping them get to where they want to go.
Program Innovation: Co-creating program innovations, based on the latest research and clinical knowledge, grounded in best practices for behavior change, and within the existing WW context
Program Consistency: Ensuring consistent articulation and dissemination of the WW program across platforms and countries.
This position will report to the Global Director of Program, Science.
Key Responsibilities:
In this position, you will play a pivotal role and lead as a subject matter expert on diversity and inclusion as it relates to the WW program, with a strong emphasis on appealing to and engaging diverse populations, and an initial focus on Black women. You'll support cross-functional teams, such as Product, Content, Marketing, Learning & Development, by developing global program inclusion principles informed by:
Your scientific experience and thought leadership will be critical to ensure that the principles you develop are consistently embedded in our experiences, materials, language, and studies globally, elevating the quality of our program, and ensuring that our program considers the diverse cultures and social contexts of our members.
You'll also collaborate with the Global Director of Program in the co-creation of program innovations in all of the existing program pillars (food, activity, sleep, and mindset) and new areas as they arise. You'll support cross-functional teams by:
Your strong understanding of behavioral weight management (or related field in health behavior change), and desire to continue to grow your knowledge and expertise into new health behaviors (e.g., such as diabetes) will help to guide and support the expansion of our program to meet new needs. You enjoy the challenge of translating complex scientific concepts into lay language to share with a variety of audiences, and creatively applying scientific insights in novel ways that increase the sustainability, livability and efficacy of behavior change programs.
In collaboration with the Global Director of Program, you'll also support ensuring that the WW program is consistently articulated across platforms and countries. As an internal subject matter expert on all things WW program, you'll support cross-functional teams by developing, and providing consult and documentation of:

- Reviewing of the scientific literature on significant socio cultural differences in weight loss perspectives and in the facilitators and barriers to effective behavior change
- Leading qualitative and quantitative analysis of our member data to understand the member experience, and barriers and facilitators for members of different cultural and societal backgrounds
- Developing best practices for considering personal context into the weight and wellness journey
Your scientific experience and thought leadership will be critical to ensure that the principles you develop are consistently embedded in our experiences, materials, language, and studies globally, elevating the quality of our program, and ensuring that our program considers the diverse cultures and social contexts of our members.

- Having a working knowledge, or desire to learn, the basics of behavior change in food, activity, sleep and mindset, and new areas as necessary (e.g., diabetes, stress)
- Developing clear recommendations and considerations from the perspectives of behavior change, program inclusion, clinical research, behavioral weight management, and program (leveraging and consolidating the expertise of other science team members and external experts as needed), to help shape and guide the innovation ideas
- Regularly connect with global program leads in each market to collect international considerations
Your strong understanding of behavioral weight management (or related field in health behavior change), and desire to continue to grow your knowledge and expertise into new health behaviors (e.g., such as diabetes) will help to guide and support the expansion of our program to meet new needs. You enjoy the challenge of translating complex scientific concepts into lay language to share with a variety of audiences, and creatively applying scientific insights in novel ways that increase the sustainability, livability and efficacy of behavior change programs.

- WW program fundamentals, outlining the principles and components, explaining the scientific and behavior change rationale, and describing the member experience and messaging (infusing reasons to believe with instruction)
- Practical, actionable and proven ideas for behavior change in food, activity, sleep, mindset, and other areas of wellness (such as diabetes), leveraging and translating the scientific literature

Requirements:
- Content knowledge and expertise in the impact of personal and cultural context on the weight management and/or wellness journey, direct experience working with ethnically diverse participant populations helpful
- Fluent in the language of science and well versed in scientific ideas & comfortable in the scientific literature, with the ability to work with experts in various scientific fields: weight management, physical activity, positive psychology, sleep, nutrition, diabetes
- Strong collaboration and influencing skills with the ability to successfully work cross-functionally
- Intellectually curious and open to innovation, with the ability to be objective and challenge ideas when necessary to ensure that the focus remains on the scientific foundation in which the brand is built.
- Project management skills and the ability to own a project from start to finish, and maintain/update it as necessary
- Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to translate science into accessible language and concepts, effectively provide feedback, and a demonstrated ability to create accurate, detailed, concise materials for a variety of audiences
- Advanced degree in psychology, public health, marketing science, or a similar field
- 5-7 years relevant work experience in either a program or science position
