Hours: 7:00am -3:00pm M-F 40 hours

Education:
BS hard requirement: preferred in Manufacturing, Engineering, Mechanical Engineering
1 Purpose of Position
To support the Finishing Department by leading process improvements projects intended to reduce manufacturing costs, increase capacity, eliminate single points of failure, increase equipment uptime, and develop and test LEAN concepts and technologies to integrate into production that deliver measurable improvements.
2 Major Responsibilities - Ongoing Tasks
1. Identify opportunities to reduce cycle time, increase capacity, reduce costs and reduce variability
2. Provide on-going data analysis and support for key measures.
3. Help build and maintain excel or other software tools to help drive metrics for processing time, throughput, and defect rates.
4. Ensure that all processes operate in the safest possible manner and are compliant with corporate and governmental requirements.
Project Tasks
1. Propose areas for improvement, develop project plans and lead teams to develop solutions and implement.
2. Build and maintain digital excel tools to help identify current and historical processing times, throughput, defect rates, capacity models, and value stream maps.
3. Provide documentation on projects where appropriate Engineering Reports, SOPs, etc.
4. Train technical and operations personnel in new methods or procedures.
5. Troubleshoot manufacturing issues to determine root cause and implement solutions.
3 Key Decision Areas
Collect, analyze, and evaluate process and product information and determine technical directions or alternatives on glass manufacturing programs.
Lead new product and technology implementation.
Provide staff with process and product information that insures meeting project costs, schedule and profitability to established goals.
4 Criteria for Performance Evaluation
Timely completions of projects in a technically sound, cost effective, and safe fashion.
Implementation of new processes that meet the stated profitability objectives.
Proficient use of Six Sigma tools and methodology as applicable.
Education: BS Minimum
Experience: 3+ Years
