Painter 2nd Shift
Job Description
I. PURPOSE OF THE JOB
Set up, operate, or tend machines to coat or paint electrostatic clear coating and thermal curing of plumbing and accessory components.
II. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Applies clear organic powder coatings to high quality metal components using electrostatic painting technology.
• Thermally cures the coatings using standard paint bake ovens.
• Adheres to and promotes all company safety rules and requirements.
• Ability to match or detect differences between colors, including shades of color and brightness.
• Inspect finishes of workpieces or finished products.
• Measure ingredients or substances to be used in production processes.
• Monitor equipment operation to ensure proper functioning.
• Operate painting or coating equipment.
• Adjust equipment controls to regulate flow of production materials or products.
III. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

IV. KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum of three years experience applying clear liquid coatings to metal parts using electrostatic technology.
• Ability to make adjustments to paint materials and application equipment to obtain optimum coating results.
• Ability to adjust oven temperature to obtain optimum paint cure for a variety of shapes and weights of metal parts.
• Ability to communicate and work cooperatively with others.
• Ability to produce consistent, high quality coatings in a high production environment.
• Ability to speak and read basic English.
V. PHYSICAL DEMAND
• Capable of constantly lifting 5 pounds, and regularly up to 40 pounds, with or without assistance
VI. WORKING CONDITIONS AND ENVIRONMENT
• Working in manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, cold, dust and heat
• Standing and walking most of the time
• Working around and handling industrial paints and solvents.
• Required use of for hand, eyes, and feet protection
